Action Team
The Friends of Norwich in Bloom are dedicated volunteers from all walks of life with a common quest to improve, enhance and sustain the environment for all who live, work in or visit Norwich. At the AGM Trustees are elected biennially and Action Team members are elected annually. Trustees meet quarterly to receive reports of finance and activities, develop business plans and authorise and enable the Action Team.
At present we have no meetings booked due to the Corona Virus.
The action Team meets monthly to organise the business of the Friends. Each team member has a specific role to fulfil throughout the year and reports to each meeting. Meetings are lively and busy occasions dealing with: - planning of the annual programme and budget - submission and updating of individual project briefs - detailed planning for regional and national competitions, as well as our own annual local environmental
We are now working towards meeting the Anglia in Bloom Judges Chris and Nolan on July 12th 2018. We will be showing them around Norwich on a four hour route and looking at different places that we have put in as extra special categories. We also have a route with Britain in Bloom on 2nd August 2018. This will be a four hour route too. Finally we will be visiting Bury St Edmunds for the Anglia in Bloom Awards on September 12th to see if all of our hard work and of course the groups around Norwich have done to see if any of the awards are coming our way. Fingers crossed for a good result for Norwich.
In 2019 we won a Silver Gilt for Norwich and in 2020 we didnt manage to take part in anything because of Covid 19 we did however ask people to send in their pictures of what they are growing and we have a nice display in the gallery.
